Prof Allen Caldwell - Proton-driven Plasma Wakefield Acceleration [edit]

Prof Allen Caldwell (Max-Planck-Institut für Physik), delivered a lecture in the John Adams Institute For Accelerator Science series at 16:15 on Thursday 9th February 2012 at Fisher Room, Denys Wilkinson Building, Keble Road, Oxford.

Proton-driven Plasma Wakefield AccelerationThe construction of ever larger and costlier accelerator facilities cannot continue forever, and new technologies will be needed to push the energy frontier. Plasma wakefield acceleration is a rapidly developing field and is a promising candidate technology for future high energy colliders. We focus on the recently proposed idea of proton-driven plasma wakefield acceleration and describe the current status and plans for this approach.
