VERS 50301 46 2006 MODE SEQ NAME 'Landscape' lens designed with ZEMAX's solves NOTE 0 Probably the name has been given also to other lens types. This lens was used in some early box cameras with blue-sensitive photographic emulsions. The camera is focused to infinity and the front len NOTE 0 s surface is flat, so that surface by itself is free of spherical aberration, coma, astigmatism, field curvature and longitudinal colour. It does add lateral colour and distortion. The second surfac NOTE 0 e is orthogonal to chief rays, being centred on the local pupil (the aperture stop seen through the glass). This second surface is also a good type of surface as regards aberrations: it is free of c NOTE 0 oma, astigmatism, distortion and lateral colour. It does suffer from spherical aberration, field curvature and longitudinal colour, but they are not bad at f/16. To do this I set up the second surfa NOTE 0 ce using the two solves, and then I scaled the whole lens with a ZEMAX feature to give the required focal length.
